Nice and pretty rare Erkennungsmarke from a recruit in the 1. Ersatz-Kompanie of SS-Polizei-Grenadier-Regiment 1, which was part of the 4. SS-Polizei-Division. It has the classic font for these tags, and a remarkably big hole for the cord. The tag was found near Liepaja in Latvia, and it might have belonged to a soldier who was transferred to the III.(germanisches) SS-Panzer-Korps.

The tag is corroded and missing a piece, but in solid condition with the text clearly readable.

It could be cleaned further.
