Wonderful battle-damaged M40 helmet with two SS helmet cover clips and significant battle-damage.
It was found on the Narva front, near the village of Auvere, on positions of the Estonian Waffen-Grenadier-Regiment der SS 45. There is some rust damage, but the shell is very solid. The paint on the outside has been preserved in incredible condition, possibly because it was protected by the cloth of the helmet cover.
It is extremely rare to find SS helmets with original helmet cover clips attached to them, and even more so from the Narva front.
A very nice display piece with lots of character.
