Some very rare and unique items were recently found on the terrain of Fliegerhorst Heiligenbeil, which was a used airbase for the Luftwaffe during the entire war. There was also a so-called Aussenlager (subcamp) of the Stutthof concentration camp.

About 1,200 Jewish prisoners were used for forced labor on the terrain, under the command of SS NCO's. The guards were most probably Luftwaffe personnel.

Several rare tags were found in a trash pit on the terrain of the former Fliegerhorst, alongside unit emblems, a plate, and an FJ badge.
