Kampfgeschwader 76 (KG 76), known as the Battle Wing, was a distinguished Luftwaffe bomber group active during World War II.

Established in May 1939, it was one of the few bomber units to operate throughout the entire conflict. KG 76 participated in numerous significant campaigns, including the Battle for Britain, the Black Sea and Caucasus operations, the Mediterranean Campaign, and the defense of the Reich.

The Erkennungsmarke in question was discovered at Gutenfeld Airport in East Prussia, a site linked to the group's operations.
