Very interesting and hard to find the early war aluminum Kriegsmarine id tag (erkennungsmarke) of a member of the Baltic fleet.

It is named to Richard Nitsche, and "39 KS" indicates he was enrolled in 1939 and served in the Küstendienst See, which means service on small vessels along the coast. It was found recently near the Tannenberg-Stellung.

Rarely seen tag from a very famous battlefield.
