A very unique and special grouping of relics of a Messerschmitt Me-109, which went missing but was actually hit and crashed on an airfield.

The only known loss in the area where these relics were found was a Me-109, which belonged to Uffz. Manfred Reipert of the 5./JG 53. On 4 July 1941, at about 19:00, he had taken off to the area north of Ostrov and went missing. Presumably, in an air battle over the Soviet airfield Rozhkopolye, he was rammed by an I-16 plane that belonged to Sergeant Major Totmilin from the 158 IAP.

He hit the German airplane in the cockpit, which probably killed the German pilot immediately. The Soviet pilot managed to escape by parachute, while the Me-109F2 (No. 9154) crashed on the airfield of Rozhkopolye. It was there where these relics were found many years later.

Among the relics are the Luftwaffe belt buckle and parachute quick-release buckle of Reipert. The bigger part is melted aluminum.

Owning a grouping from a documented air battle is a unique opportunity.
