Very nice textbook zinc Erkennungsmarke from a member of the 7.(Stamm-Kompanie)/SS-Panzergrenadier-Ausbildungs-und-Ersatz-Bataillon 4, which was stationed in Ede in Holland and saw action during the Battle of Arnhem in September 1944.

For some reason, all tags we have seen from this training and replacement bataillon, were issued by this 7th company, with numbers up till in the thousands. They all have the very same classic font.

This tag was found near Pisek in Czech Republic, and must have been thrown away there in May 1945. The tag itself is in very nice solid condition with the markings clearly readable. Although many of these tags seem to have been issued, they are very rare to encounter.

Textbook piece of a rare unit with a connection to Operation Market Garden.
