Very nice zinc SS visor cap eagle, marked M1/167, indicating it was made by Augustin Hicke.

It was found on the place where the break-out of the Cherkassy pocket took place on 17 February 1944 and must have belonged to a member of the 5. SS-Panzer-Division "Wiking".

The prongs are broken, but the condition is very nice and retains much of the original silver finish.

Very nice relic from a famous battlefield.
