Very nice half zinc Erkennungsmarke from a Romanian Volksdeutsche SS-Panzer-Grenadier in the 1./SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment "Germania".

The tag was recently found on an island in the Dnjepr river in Ukraine, where the owner got killed on 27 September 1943. Half tags, especially with two holes for the neck cord, are always suspicious to come from graves or to have been found with human remains, but we are very careful with what we acquire and believe this was probably lost (and found) on the place where the owner got killed (and not buried with him).
