Very nice and rare zinc Erkennungsmarke from a member of the 3./SS-Kavallerie-Regiment 2, which was one of the two cavalry regiments of the SS-Kavallerie-Brigade under command of Fegelein.

In the Summer of 1942, the SS-Kavallerie-Division was formed, with a third cavalry regiment attached to it.

In October 1943, the division was renamed into 8. SS-Kavallerie-Division "Florian Geyer", and the regiments where numbered 15, 16 and 17.

Since this tag was found in Ukraine, we assume it was lost during the fightings in September and October 1943 alongside the Dnjepr river.
