Wonderful textbook zinc Erkennungsmarke from a member of the 5./SS-Feld-Ausbildungs-Bataillon "Wiking".
This was the field training unit of the 5. SS-Panzer-Division "WIking" and got trapped in the Cherkassy pocket. This tag was found on the route of the break-out on 16 February 1944.
Many soldiers of the "Wiking" division got killed or were captured on that day, and we think the owner of this tag was one of the captured soldiers.
The tag is in very good condition.
