Fantastic winter camouflage M40 helmet from the Auvere bridgehead in Estonia.

It might have belonged to a member of the 61. Infanterie-Division, which was fighting there from February 1944 onwards. The helmet itself is in very good and solid condition. Most of the white paint has been preserved, and this is for certain due to the swampy area near Auvere. We have seen time-capsule helmets coming from there. This one was found many years ago. The leather liner didn't make it, but the aluminum liner ring is there.

It is the best winter camouflage helmet from the Narva front we have seen, and it can be attributed to an important battle.

Amazing display piece.
