SS-Panzer-Division &#171;Wiking&#187;<\/strong>. This field training battalion suffered heavy losses during the break-out from the <strong>Cherkassy<\/strong> pocket on <strong>16 February 1944.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In total, the &#171;Wiking&#187; division lost up to <strong>1,500 man<\/strong> during these actions, which made it one of the most destructive days in the history of this unit. This tag was found alongside the retrout route, and the owner was probably taken prisoner.<\/p>\n<p>The tag is in very good condition with the marking clearly visible on both sides.
