The number is known to have been given out, and another typical feature is the blood group letter, which was stamped on the same side on originally issued examples.<\/p>\n<p>It was found near <strong>B\u00f6hmisch Zinnwald<\/strong>, nowadays <strong>C\u00ednovec<\/strong> in Czech Republic, and was most probably thrown away in May 1945.<\/p>\n<p>A unique tag, since field-replacements are rare, but certainly existed.<\/p>\n<p>Very intriguing piece.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>These always require a leap of faith, but we believe this is an original field-made aluminum Erkennungsmarke from a recruit in the 4.\/SS-Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon &#171;Deutschland&#187;.
