SS-Panzer-Division \u201cWiking\u201d<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>It consists of a very nice postcard-size photo of him as an SS-Unterscharf\u00fchrer, with the Iron Cross 1st Class (Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse), as well as other decorations. The photo is dated <strong>April 1944<\/strong>, a couple of months after the <strong>Cherkassy<\/strong> breakout.<\/p>\n<p>The document detailing his close-combat days is<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong> extremely rare<\/strong><\/span>. It was a paper meant to be added to the Soldbuch, and it counted qualification days (Nahkampftage) for the Nahkampfspange. The places <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Iskaszentgy\u00f6rgy and Nadasladany<\/strong><\/span> are situated on the breakout route of the \u201c<strong>Wiking<\/strong>\u201d division from <strong>Stuhlweissenburg on 18 and 19 March 1945<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The third item is <strong>G\u00f6rzner&#8217;s<\/strong> leather belt and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Overhoff-made steel SS belt buckle<\/strong><\/span>, both in excellent condition.<\/p>\n<p>It all came together from his family and is untouched.<\/p>\n<p>A small, but fantastic <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Hungary 1945-related \u201cWiking\u201d<\/strong><\/span> <\/em>grouping, which might be researched further.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Superb grouping of SS-Unterscharf\u00fchrer Karl G\u00f6rzner, who served in SS-Divisions-Begleit-Kompanie 5 of the 5.
