Wonderful and very rare zinc Erkennungsmarke of a member of the 1. Stammkompanie of SS-Grenadier-Ausbildungs-und-Ersatz-Brigade 15, which was the training and replacement unit of the 15. Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS (lett. Nr. 1).

This unit was formed in December 1943 from the SS-Grenadier-Ausbildungs-und-Ersatz-Bataillon 15. It saw action on the Latvian-Lithuanian border in July 1944, and was dissolved on 31 July 1944. The tag was found in Kurzeme in Kurland, so we believe the owner must have been transferred to another unit of the 15th Latvian SS division.

We have seen few tags of this Brigade, and deem it very rare.

The tag is in good solid condition with the classic font for these tags.
