Very nice zinc Erkennungsmarke from a member of the 3./Infanterie-Regiment 577, which was part of the 305. Infanterie-Division.

This unit was fighting for the Barrikady gun factory in Stalingrad. The division was destroyed during the battle of Stalingrad, and it was there this tag was found. Read the story of Friedrich Konrad Winkler, who participated in the same battles and was a member of the very same regiment.

A witness of one of the toughest battles during the street fighting in the city.
