Stamp – Firing Point Diagram from Stalingrad
Very interesting Soviet metal printing plate with the construction diagram of a firing position, found in Stalingrad.
The diagram shows two firing platforms (“огн. площадка”) connected by a slit trench (“щель”), with the parapet and the measurements in metres. The text is in mirror image, as on every printing plate.
It was most likely used to print instruction sheets for building field fortifications.
The plate has four mounting holes and a fine dark patina, and the relief is still clearly visible. A rare piece from the Stalingrad battlefield.
