We offer plate from a German tank (Pz. III or IV), which was found in the village of Jemeljanovka near Smolensk.

At the beginning of the war, tank numbers were small white markings on rhomboidal shaped number plates on the sides of the tank, but as a consequence were harder to see for commanders. The number were then placed on metal plates in the shape of a parallelogram. These were to be places on both sides and the rear of the tank.

Even-numbered regiments were have to yellow numbers and odd-numbered regiments were to have white numbers.
