Very nice and rare zinc Erkennungsmarke from a Turkic member of Nachschub-Bataillon 522.
This unit was originally formed in August 1939, but only in April 1943 it was reorganized and expanded with a 3rd and 4th Turkic company, as well as a 5th and 6th Volga Tatar company. The battalion was based in Janow in Poland. In September 1944, the Turkic companies of the battalion were used to form the Turkvölkisch-Kaukasisches Ausbildungs-und-Ersatz-Bataillon.
The tag is in very nice and solid condition, with the text clearly readable.
It was found in Kandava in Kurland, Latvia.
