Very nice silver-finished zinc Demjansk shield found in Germany.

The Demjansk shield was instituted on 25 April 1943 and awarded to about 100,000 men who fought in the Demyansk pocket for over a year in 1942/43.

The shield is missing the pins, backing, and the field-grey cloth, but is in very good condition and sharp-looking.

"Missing log" rarer type.
