A very nice, completely untouched SS canteen (Feldflasche), found in Germany. The neck and cup are clearly marked SS RZM 39/37, as is the cover, although the markings are a little hard to read in places.
The cover and leather strap are both in great overall condition. The cover shows no major damage, as seen in the photographs, and both are original to the canteen.
Of particular interest, the cap is signed by the soldier himself - a personal detail that opens the possibility of further research into the original owner.
A very rare piece to come across in this condition, and absolutely untouched.
