An original, untouched Wehrpass to a German Army NCO, with numerous handwritten entries, unit stamps, and the original passport photograph.

Otto Schliecker was born on 14 October 1914 in Meinsholzen, Kreis Holzminden, a commercial clerk by trade. Trained with Nachrichten-Ersatz-Abteilung 13 in Hanover, he served with the 1st Company of Nachrichten-Abteilung 267, the signals battalion of the 267. Infanterie-Division. His identity disc was stamped 1./N.267. The campaign list runs from mobilization in August 1939 through Belgium and France to the crossing of the Bug in June 1941, Smolensk, Vyazma and Bryansk, the advance on Moscow and the defensive fighting that followed, ending with positional warfare under Heeresgruppe Mitte. He was promoted to Unteroffizier in 1941 and decorated with the Iron Cross 2nd Class and the Ostmedaille.

He was killed at Lipovaya Roshcha (Spas-Demensk district, Kaluga Oblast) on 15 March 1943, aged 28. The casualty entry, certified by his company on 24 March 1943, gives the cause as A.G. Kopf - an artillery fragment to the head.

The grouping comprises the Wehrpass, its original oilcloth Wehr-Pass wallet, later research notes on the grave location (Utrikovo / Spas-Demensk), and - found hidden inside the Wehrpass - a period photograph of his field grave, the marker bearing his name and unit.
