Very interesting battle-damaged Luftwaffe M40 helmet from Viieristi, on the Sõrve peninsula of the island of Saaremaa.
Heavy battles took place there in Autumn 1944. This helmet was found in a bunker in 2009. It has no liner, but the Luftwaffe decal and remnants of paint have been preserved nicely.
Items from Saaremaa are rare. The previous owner covered the helmet with wax.
