We are able to offer something special here, all found together in Serbia last year: one Erkennungsmarke and two visor cap eagles of the Einsatzstaffel der Deutschen Mannschaft in Croatia. The tag was given out by the Befehlshaber der Ordnungspolizei (BdO) Kroatien. On 15 July 1943 a new German-Croatian police force was formed. The BdO Kroatien consisted of five SS-Polizei-Gebietsführer with units of the Croatian Gendarmerie and German Sicherheitspolizei resorting under them.

This tag is of Polizei-Gebiet I, which had offices in Esseg, Brod, Nowa-Gradiska, Vukovar and Ruma. The tag has been found together with these Croatian visor cap eagles, and a SS belt buckle, which we do not offer here. We believe the owners were transferred to the 7. SS-Freiwilligen-Gebirgs-Division "Prinz Eugen", since these were found on positions of this unit at the Sremski front in Serbia. The "Prinz Eugen" division was taking part in Unternehmen Wintergewitter in January 1945. The tag has been broken, and is not complete, but the pieces are in solid condition with the markings clearly readable.

The Croatian visor cap eagles are very rare textbook examples. One is missing parts of its wings, as well as the prongs, while the other one is missing its head and is broken, but retains both prongs. Super rare and interesting grouping related to both the Einsatzstaffel in Croatia and the "Prinz Eugen" division.
