Great looking zinc Erkennungsmarke from a member of the 14./Grenadier-Regiment 698, which was part of the 342. Infanterie-Division.

This division fought on the Eastern Front and was destroyed in the Halbe pocket at the end of April 1945. The 14th company was the anti-aircraft company of this regiment. The tag comes from Germany and was presumably found near Halbe.

The tag is in very good solic condition, with the text clearly readable and with the classic font for these tags.

On top of that, it has been stamped "FRW" (= Freiwillige) in a very unique way.

Perfect and rare field unit-issued tag that comes from a very historical battlefield.

Great display piece.
