Really nice and attractive battle-damaged SS M40 helmet, which was found on the battlefield near Hiiemetsa (Repniku) in Estonia. It has no decal, but one of the helmet cover clips has been preserved, which is firmly attached to the shell. The helmet was made by Quist, judging by the form of the shell. The liner ring has been preserved, as well as quite some paint.

The most interesting part is the very impressive battle-damage, which was most probably caused on 26 July 1944, when the Dutch SS-Freiwilligen-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 48 "General Seyffardt" was destroyed during its retreat from Narva. About 900 men got encircled that day with very few to get out of the encirclement.

Although masses of equipment were lost in that area on that day, it has become very rare to find anything there, so we are proud to offer this extremely interesting helmet, which was probably worn by a Dutch volunteer.

Awesome display piece.
