Very rare zinc Erkennungsmarke from a member of the SS-Panzer-Ersatz-Abteilung, which provided tank crew members to all tank units of the Waffen-SS.

It was formed in June 1942 in Weimar-Buchenwald and reformed into SS-Panzer-Ausbildungs-und-Ersatz-Regiment one year later.

The tag is corroded and broken, but solid with the markings clearly readable. These tags are not common to find and most certainly belonged to a Panzer crew member.
