Ground-recovered condition with grey oxidation and light soil deposits; all details crisp and fully legible.

Found together with an SS-Totenkopf identity tag (Erkennungsmarke) on a retreat route in the Czech-German border region - units withdrawing in May 1945 from southern Germany through the Czech borderlands toward the American zone.
