A superb and very rare half stainless steel Erkennungsmarke from a member of the 12./SS-Standarte "Der Führer", which was formed in March 1938 in Vienna. All these early id tags are very nice and of high quality. This one is also a textbook exemplar with a low number.

We do not know where it was found, but it is a perfect example of an early "Der Führer" tag. It is damaged a bit, but the overall condition is very good with the text clearly readable.
