Very nice and rare metal Erkennungsmarke from a member of the Stabsbatterie of Heeres-Sturmgeschütz-Abteilung 203. The unit was founded in February 1941 in Jüterbog and consisted of three Sturmgeschütz batteries. It took part in Operation Barbarossa and came very close to Moscow in 1941. In 1942 it was deployed in the Caucasus and took part in the battle of Nalchik. Later on, it fought in Ukraine, Poland and Germany.

This tag was found in Balga near Königsberg. The tag has typical metal corrosion, but the condition is reasonable and the letters are sharp.

A rare unit to come across.
