Very nice zinc Erkennungsmarke from a member of SS-Ausbildungs-Abteilung Konitz, a late-war training unit formed on SS-Truppenübungsplatz Westpreussen.
The tag was ground-recovered in Germany at the site of a former prisoner-of-war camp. It is in average dug condition, but notably the blood group is still clearly visible - a definite plus on a relic of this type.
Included as part of the set is a ground-dug iron relic Wound Badge, offered together with the tag.
The SS-Ausbildungs-Abteilung Konitz was an SS training unit during World War II located in Konitz (now Chojnice, Poland), responsible for training soldiers for the Eastern Front. The site today serves as a memorial to the victims of Nazi oppression.
