Waffen-SS M1/24 skull Very nice zinc SS visor cap skull, marked M1/24 Assmann und Sohn. It was recently found in Cherkassy, where the 5. SS-Panzer-Division "Wiking" broke out of the Cherkassy Pocket on 16 February 1944. The "Wiking" division suffered heavy casualties when it broke through the Russian positions there. It is very rare to encounter SS visor caps skulls from this battlefield, and although it is heavily corroded, the markings are visible.
