Very nice early aluminum Erkennungsmarke from a member of the 8./Infanterie-Regiment 61, which was part of the 7. Infanterie-Division. This unit was fighting in France in 1940 and then on the Eastern front.

In the Summer of 1941 it was fighting around Smolensk and then came close to Moscow late 1941. This tag was found near Smolensk.

The tag itself is in nice condition with the typical corrosion associated with aluminum tags.
