Very nice zinc Erkennungsmarke from a member of the 5./SS-Feld-Ausbildungs-Bataillon 5, which was the field training unit of the SS division "Wiking".

Although it was not meant as a combat unit, it was put into action in the Cherkassy pocket in February 1944, and suffered heavy lossed during the break-out attempt of the division on 16 February 1944. The tag is in very good condition with the marking clearly readable.
