Really nice and rare Erkennungsmarke from a member of the 4./Infanterie-Bataillon 828, which was part of the Wolgatatarische Legion. This unit was formed in 1942 and consisted of muslim Volga Tatar volunteers.

This unit was wearing the Idel-Ural arm shields.

The tag was found near Königsberg and was probably last there during the final battles for the city in April 1945. The tag itself is in very nice condition with the markings clearly readable.
