Panzervernichtungsabzeichen from Königsberg

Cost of delivery: €8

Very rare ground-dug Panzervernichtungsabzeichen. It was found near Königsberg.

The cloth disappeared, and only the metal pieces remained, but the condition is good and solid.

During World War II, members of the Wehrmacht who used a hand-held weapon to destroy an enemy tank or armored combat vehicle on their own were given the Tank Destruction Badge (German: Sonderabzeichen für das Niederkämpfen von Panzerkampfwagen durch Einzelkämpfer). This award was not available to anti-tank units. Although it was created on March 9, 1942, it was eligible to be given for activities that began on June 22, 1941, when the German invasion of the Soviet Union, Operation Barbarossa, began. The soldier would have received the General Assault Badge for the action before this medal was introduced.

Extremely rare item to come across.
