Very nice zinc id tag (erkennungsmarke) from a member of the Veterinär-Ersatz-Kompanie der Waffen-SS, the training unit for veterinarians in the Waffen-SS.

The tag was found near the village of Sukhaya Gomolsha, south of Kharkov, where the SS-Kavallerie-Division was fighting in August 1943.

Extremely rare tag to find and in very good condition.
