This is a wonderful and very rare zinc Erkennungsmarke from a member of the 1./SS-Artillerie-Regiment 5, which was part of the SS-Division "Wiking", later the 5. SS-Panzer-Division "Wiking".

The tag was found near Cherkassy, on the route of the break-out on 16 February 1944.

The tag is in very good condition. Tags from this unit are very rare to encounter, because most members already had a tag from their training unit.

Perfect textbook example, coming from a famous battlefield.
