Very nice ground-dug Erkennungsmarke from a member of the 12./Infanterie-Regiment 53, part of the 14. Infanterie-Division.
The 12th company was the heavy weapons company. The tag was found near Velizh, in the region of Smolensk, where the 14. Infanterie-Division was operating.
Albeit broken, it is in very good condition.
