Very nice M40 SS helmet which was found a few years ago close to the beach near Mummasaare.

These positions were part of the famous Tannenberg-Stellung and were manned by the II./SS-Frw.Gren.Rgt. 47 of the 20. W.Gren.Div.d.SS (estn. Nr. 1) and SS-Pi.Btl. 54 of the 4. SS-Frw.Pz.Gren.Brig. “Nederland”.

The helmet is battle-damaged and the decal clearly visible. Such helmets from the Narva front are becoming very rare.
