Nice and rare zinc Erkennungsmarke from a member of the 8./SS-Totenkopf-Infanterie-Regiment 8, which was originally the 8. SS-Totenkopf-Standarte.

The unit was formed on 25 February 1941, and became part of the 1. SS-Infanterie-Brigade mot., which was fighting against partisans in Russia and Belarus.

The 8th company was the heavy-weapons company of the regiment's 2nd battalion. The tag itself has suffered a bit from corrosion, but it is in good, solid condition, with the text clearly readable.

It has the classic font for these tags.

It was found near Ústí nad Labem in Czech, and was probably thrown away in May 1945.

A very rare tag to come by and a great display piece.
