Wonderful solid M35 helmet with battle damage and remnants of winter camouflage.
The helmet was recently found on the Sõrve peninsula on the island of Saaremaa. Sõrve is famous for the battle of Tehumardi in November 1944. It is very rare to find any helmets which can be connected to these events, and seldom we have seen such a nice example.
It most probably belonged to a member of Grenadier-Regiment 67, which was part of the 23. Infanterie-Division.
Beautiful museum-quality display piece.
