Very nice and rare zinc Erkennungsmarke from a member of the Stab or Stabskompanie/SS-Infanterie-Regiment 10.
This regiment was formed from the 10. SS-Totenkopf-Standarte on 25 February 1941 in Krakow in Poland. It became part of the 1. SS-Infanterie-Brigade, which was deployed in Ukraine and Russia. SS-Infanterie-Regiment 10 was later reformed into SS-Panzergrenadier-Regiment 40 and absorbed into the newly formed 18. SS-Freiwilligen-Panzergrenadier-Division "Horst Wessel".
This tag has been found in the Kletecna hill area, between Usti nad Labem and Lovosice in the Czech Republic, and was most probably thrown away there in the chaos of May 1945.
The tag itself is broken, but in very good, solid condition.
A very rare tag to come across.
